Accelerated Reader

Our library houses a collection of about 4,000 books.  This school year 

we have created a new area in our library known as the Accelerated

Reader section.  The books in this area range from easy books,

fiction books, biography books, and nonfiction books.  This section also

contains paperbacks.  All books in this section have a computer test

and when a student has finished reading one of these books he or she

goes to the computer and takes a test over that book.  According to the

number of correct answers, the student can earn so many points per book.

These points are used to trade at the AR store, which is opened monthly.

Students can also win other prizes and even trophies!  Students are allowed

to come into the library research and check out books during their scheduled

library time or at their teacher's discretion.  We have fiction and non-fiction

books for grades K-8.
