6th Grade Research Project

Festival of Countries

 6th Grade Research Project 2008

 This year, all 6th grade students will be completing a research project.  Students will need to find information regarding a country of their choice.  This information will be compiled into a project.  Students have the choice of completing one the following:

bulletPoster
bulletBrochure
bulletPower Point Presentation

 

Students must present their project to their peers.

 

Project requirements:

 

bulletFact Cards: Students must find facts from 5 different sources.  Students need to get at least one source from the Internet, periodical, and reference.  Facts will be placed on index cards with the reference listed. 
bulletWorks Sited Page: Students are to list all sources in alphabetical order on a works sited page.  Punctuation must be correct.
bulletMap: Students are to complete a map of their country.  The map should list the capital city, the borders, and the hemisphere in which it is found.  Maps should be colored.
bulletFlag: Students will make a flag from the country they choose.  Flags must be colored.  Paper will be provided for the flags.
bulletProject: Students should choose a project listed above.  The project should reflect the 5 sources of information they found. 
bulletPresentation: Students must present their project to the class.  During the presentation, students are to give an introduction to their country, and tell the class about the information they found.

 

Mrs. Hill, Ms. Williams, and Mrs. Morelock will be taking their students to the library to find sources.  Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. McLain will take their classes to the computer lab.  Helpful information can be found in Chapter 9 in your language book.

 

The grade on this project will be counted in Reading and Language Arts classes.

 

The project is due on May 5
