Text Box: Kindergarten/First Grade registration for the 2006/2007 school year in the Hawkins County School System is scheduled for April 28, 2006 and May 5th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at each elementary school. Students whose last name begins with letters “A” thru “M” should register their child on April 28th. Students whose last name begins with letters “N” thru “Z” should be registered on May 5, 2005. If your child cannot be registered on one of these two days, please contact the school which your child will be attending to schedule a time for registration. State law requires that students must be five years

A child must be six years of age on or before September 30th and have attended a State-approved kindergarten in order to be enrolled in First Grade. Students presently enrolled in Kindergarten in the Hawkins County School System will not need to be registered for First Grade.
