Why did you choose to become a teacher? The opportunity to contribute to the betterment of society, to work with people and help others.

What is the most challenging part about teaching? Teaching students of widely varying abilities in the same classroom. One size does not fit all.

As a teacher, what are the most important qualities that a student should possess to achieve success? A successful student is disciplined, motivated and manages his/her time well. They realize that learning is lifelong, accept self-responsibility and believe in themselves.

Your advice to the upcoming freshman: Don't be afraid to admit that you need help, then go get it. Take good notes, be organized and read, read, read. First a reader then a leader.

Amount of homework and types will vary with the particular unit of study. Homework extends the learning of the concepts already taught in the classroom. It helps students develop good study habits so that they can become successful lifelong learners.
