A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

A student's four years of high school is comparable to making a long story short. When a student enters as a freshman, each week, day, or year is never-ending. However, the time one spends in school is actually rather short. With this in mind, the philosophy and the attitude of the school becomes rather important. I was reminded of this during a recent visit to a thriving business. While waiting in line, I noticed an interesting philosophy posted on the wall. Instead of writing out a long description of what our philosophy is at Volunteer High School, I adopted this philosophy.

  • A student is the most important person in any school.
  • A student is not just an interruption of our work -he or she is the purpose of it.
  • A student is one who comes to us with needs and wants. It is our job to fulfill them.
  • A student is the lifeblood of every school .Without our students we would have to close our doors.

We are pleased, as teachers of VHS, to have the opportunity to educate and prepare our students for their life's story,
however long that story might be.
