Why did you choose to become a teacher? While teaching a Sunday school class of teens, I found myself preparing different learning activities for it all week long. I loved every minute of it. So, my class encouraged me to become a school teacher. Those teens are older, married, and have children now, but when I see them, I thank them for the encouragement which changed my life.

What is the most challenging part about teaching? Discipline is the challenge, but I challenge myself to create lesson plans that make learning fun.

As a teacher, what are the most important qualities that a student should possess to achieve success? I believe a student who possesses determination will succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Your advice to the upcoming freshman: It is important for freshmen to be successful inside and outside the classroom. I, therefore, advise all freshmen to study and fully participate in the classroom. Also, work on developing positive character traits: show tolerance, kindness, and respect for others.

What class or classes do you teach and what will the class be studying and learning? I teach English 10. We will study and master Gateway test objectives.

How much and what kinds of homework can your students expect?
I don't give a lot of homework, but the majority of it will be reading and studying notes and class work for quizzes and test.

Special Projects that will be completed throughout the semester: A research paper, using the MLA format, will be completed in Honors English 10.

What is the best way for your students to communicate with you? Simply talk with me before or after class. Students also have my home phone numbers, but I encourage them to call before 8:30 pm.

Do you offer tutoring? If yes, when and where: Yes
