Why did you choose to become a teacher? Enjoyed working with young people and thought this was a way to give of myself with the expience and knowledge of my profession.

What is the most challenging part about teaching? Making sure the student has mastered the skill you are teaching.

As a teacher, what are the most important qualities that a student should possess to achieve success? Have the desire and willingness to learn and when that student excells then you know your have made a difference.

Your advice to the upcoming freshman:

What class or classes do you teach and what will the class be studying and learning? Cosmetoloygy- ( hair, skin, nails) If the student completes their 1500 hours in high school they do not attend another school, they can go take their state boards for a license in the state of TN.

How much and what kinds of homework can your students expect? 1st year students have at least 2 or 3 nights a week of homework, advanced students have less homework and are more hands on. State requires 300 hours of theory in 1500 programs.

What is the best way for your students to communicate with you?

Do you offer tutoring? If yes, when and where? No unless we have night classes for the students that are lacking in hours for certification.
