Individual Classes and Course Descriptions

Course:  Computerized Accounting I

           

Grade Level: 10, 11, 12

            Credit:  1 unit

            Fee:  May be charged for materials during course 

Students will learn to apply accounting principles to a service business, manufacturing business and a corporation. They will learn proprietorship and partnership styles of ownership. Chapter problems will be written; Unit problems will be computerized. This is a fast-paced class and a must for students who plan to major in business or accounting in a 2 or 4 year college.

Course:  Computerized Accounting II

            Grade Level: 10, 11, 12

           Credit: 1 unit

            Fee:  Will be charged

            Prerequisite:  At least a C average in Computerized Accounting I

Students will learn accounting concepts and procedures on computers--for a service and manugacturing business and for corporations. By learning the computerized methods, some of the more tedious procedures are eliminated. This is a good class to prepare students for post-secondary school or the workplace.

Course:  Keyboarding/Word Processing

            Grade: Level: 9, 10, 11, 12

            Credit:  1 unit

            Fee:  Will be charged

Students will first learn the touch method of keyboarding. The rest of the class will be devoted to the word processing features of the computer. Letters, reports, and tables will be formatted using Microsoft Office. This class will prepare student to present work in high school and beyond in an impressive manner.

Course:  Application of Software

            Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12

            Credit:  1 unit

            Fee:  Will be charged

            Prerequisite:  Keyboarding/Word Processing

Students will gain hands-on experience in advanced word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. These programs will help the students to type, edit and print reports, do accounting projects, and organize records and lists with greater efficiency in their high school and college activities.
